AFterCARE

Brow Lamination - Aftercare

  • Keep brows dry for 24 hours.
  • Use a brow conditioner daily.
  • Do not apply makeup, facial cleanser or any other eye treatments for at least 24 hours after treatment.
  • Do not allow prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat, and avoid using sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms, or swimming pools. 
  • Avoid the temptation to touch the brow area after treatment.
  • No self-tanning products should be used on the face for 48 hours.
  • Tweezing between appointments must be avoided to maintain the best long-term shape. 

Lash Lift - Aftercare

  • Keep lashes dry for 24 hours.
  • Use a lash conditioner daily.
  • Do not apply makeup, facial cleanser or any other eye treatments for at least 24 hours after treatment.
  • Do not allow prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat, and avoid using sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms, or swimming pools.
  • Avoid wearing contact lenses for 24 hours.
  • Avoid rubbing the eyes.
  • Comb lashes upwards using a mascara wand.

Tint - Aftercare

  • Do not apply makeup, facial cleanser or any other eye treatments for at least 24 hours after your treatment.
  • Avoid over-touching the tinted area treatment; touching can add oils to the area (from fingers or hands) and could clog the open pores, resulting in spots.
  • Do not allow prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or heat, and avoid using sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms, or swimming pools.
  • Do not apply Retin-A, AHA or exfoliate around the brow area for 3 days on either side of the treatment.
  • No self-tanning products should be used on the face for 48 hours on either side of the treatment.


Tinting results will be darker and more defined immediately after your treatment, and oil-based make-up remover can cause the tint to fade faster.


If any stinging or swelling occurs, keep applying a cold, dampened cotton pad, cold compress or cooling spray to soothe; if it persists, seek medical advice. Please update JQ Beauty so this can be annotated on your record.

Eyelash Extension - Aftercare

  • First 24-48 Hours: Avoid water, steam, touching, or rubbing.
  • Daily Care: Brush gently, use oil-free products, and avoid mascara/curlers.
  • Sleep on Your Back: Prevents lashes from twisting.
  • Cleaning: Use a lash-safe cleanser, pat dry, and avoid heavy eye creams.
  • Avoid: Picking, waterproof makeup, and excessive heat.
  • Infills: Every 2-3 weeks to maintain fullness.  

Facial's - Aftercare

 First 24-48 Hours


  • Avoid Touching Your Face: Your skin is more sensitive, and touching can introduce bacteria.
    Skip Makeup: Let your skin breathe and absorb the benefits of the facial.
    Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin glowing.
  • Use Gentle Skincare: Stick to mild cleansers and fragrance-free moisturisers.
  • Avoid Exfoliation: No scrubs, AHAs, or BHAs for at least 48 hours.
    Limit Sun Exposure: Your skin is more sensitive; apply SPF 30+ if going outside.
  • No Steam or Heat: Avoid hot showers, saunas, and intense workouts that cause sweating.
  • Avoid caffeine, alcohol and smoking


Ongoing Care (Next Few Days):


  • Moisturise Regularly: Hydration is key for maintaining the glow.
  • SPF Daily: Continue wearing sunscreen every day.
    Eat Skin-Friendly Foods: Antioxidant-rich foods help maintain healthy skin.
    Be Gentle with Active Ingredients: Slowly reintroduce retinol or acids after a few days. 

Microneedling - Aftercare

 First 24-48 Hours


  • Avoid Touching Your Face: Your skin is more sensitive, and touching can introduce bacteria.
    Skip Makeup: Let your skin breathe and absorb the benefits of microneedling.
    Stay Hydrated: Your skin needs moisture to heal.
  • Use Gentle Skincare: Stick to mild cleansers (fragrance-free, sulphate-free) with lukewarm water.
  • Limit Sun Exposure: Your skin is more sensitive; apply SPF 30+ if going outside.
  • No Steam or Heat: Avoid hot showers, saunas, and intense workouts that cause sweating.
  • Soothing serum: apply a serum like hyaluronic acid to aid recovery.
  • Avoid active ingredients like retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and vitamin C.
  • Additional: Avoid caffeine, alcohol and smoking


Days 2-7


  • Moisturise frequently with a non-comedogenic, fragrance-free product.
  • Apply SPF 30+ daily, as your skin is highly sensitive to UV rays.
  • Skip exfoliation (scrubs, peels) until your skin has fully healed.
  • Avoid alcohol-based toners and harsh skincare products.
  • Be gentle - don’t pick at flaking or peeling skin.


After One Week


  • You can gradually reintroduce active ingredients (like vitamin C or retinol) if your skin has healed.
  • Keep up with SPF and hydration to maintain results.
  • Continue using mild, supportive skincare to promote collagen production.

Chemical Peel - Aftercare

  First 24-48 Hours


  • Keep it Clean: Use a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser with lukewarm water. Avoid scrubbing.
    Hydration is Key: Apply a mild, fragrance-free moisturiser to keep skin hydrated.
    Avoid Sun Exposure: Your skin is highly sensitive. Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ if you need to go outside.
    Skip Makeup: Let your skin breathe for at least 24 hours, ideally 48.

Days 3-7 (Peeling Phase)


  • Expect Peeling & Dryness: This is normal. Do not pick or peel the skin!
    Continue Moisturising: Hydrate with a non-comedogenic moisturiser.
    Use SPF Daily: Even indoors, your skin is vulnerable to UV damage.
    Gentle Cleansing Only: No exfoliants, acids (AHAs, BHAs, Retinol), or harsh products.


After 1 Week


  • Resume Normal Skincare (Slowly!): Introduce actives like retinol & AHAs/BHAs gradually.
    Stay Hydrated & Nourished: Drink plenty of water and eat skin-friendly foods (rich in antioxidants & vitamins).
    Avoid Direct Sunlight: If outdoors, always wear SPF and a hat.


What to Avoid Post-Peel


  • Scrubbing or exfoliating too soon.
  • Hot water, saunas, or excessive sweating.
  • Harsh skincare products (retinoids, vitamin C, alcohol-based toners).
  • Picking or pulling peeling skin.


Your skin will continue regenerating over the next 4-6 weeks, so patience is key!

Waxing - Aftercare

Clients should be advised to take the following precautions for 24 hours after the treatment:


  • Avoid all heat treatments, including sunbathing, sun-beds, steam baths and saunas.
  • Avoid swimming in public pools, as chlorine may irritate the area that has been waxed.
  • Do not apply perfumed soap, body lotion, talcum powder or deodorant to treated areas.
  • Use lukewarm water when showering or bathing, as hot water can increase sensitivity and irritation. 
  • Do not apply make-up to any treated area.
  • Try to avoid touching any skin that has been waxed.
  • Wear loose-fitting clothing, as the fibres from tight jeans or wool-mix fabrics may stick to any residual wax and cause discomfort.

Massage - Aftercare

 

  • Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to flush out toxins. Avoid caffeine and alcohol.
  • Rest: Take it easy for 24 hours, avoiding strenuous activity.
  • Stay Warm: Keep muscles relaxed, and consider a warm bath.
  • Eat Light: Choose nutritious meals over heavy foods.
  • Listen to Your Body: Mild soreness is normal; use a cold compress if needed.
  • Good Posture: Maintain posture to prevent tension from returning.
  • Self-Care: Gentle stretching and regular sessions help prolong benefits.
